You were always including me in things and you got me to dance. No one else could of done that. You’re a very special person,Joann. I just want you to know how much I miss you. I love you with all my heart. Its not easy typing this because Im crying. I pray for you all the time. Remember you will never be forgotten and you will always be in my heart. I love you,Joann!

Dorothy Temple, who moved to New York from Montgomery, Ala., as a child, never had children of her own, but she had a large extended family. "Anytime anything happened with a relative anywhere, Dorothy was there to support them," said a niece, Falana Temple, who lived with her aunt in Bushwick, Brooklyn, after her mother died. Ms. Temple, 50, a longtime employee of the State Department of Taxation and Finance, lavished attention on her nieces and nephews, taking them on trips to Disney World, Mexico and San Francisco, and keeping up with their accomplishments. She had a number of friends, many of them in Albany, but for the most part "she was a very private person," said another niece, Jada Temple. Ms. Temple, who walked with a cane because of an old knee injury and weighed more than 200 pounds, used a van service for the disabled to get to work. She told her relatives that she planned to retire soon because of her condition. - submitted: 10/31/2001 11:55:52 PM

When political systems collide like they did on September 11, innocent people pay the price. In stark contrast to the monstrous methods of the terrorists, my brother was an advocate of non-violence. He loved the cultural diversity of the Big Apple like I do the melting pot of London. David lived a rich life in a minimalistic manner and he was a true global citizen. David died young, too young. He only lived to be 25 years. I have made it my mission to carry on my brother's beliefs and not let up in the struggle to promote an open free society. David, I will never forget but always honor you. Love / Patric - submitted: 11/29/2001 12:04:52 PM

You glance off my life ever so briefly
We shared the dusty heat of double sessions
We snapped towels off each other’s backsides
Our lockers were close
We lost together
We won
We competed
We jested
We struggled
We supported
We laughed
We raced
You won
Can it be so that someone younger can be an inspiration to someone older?
Indeed
The greatest athlete ever I saw
A far greater human still
Last we met, we were teens
You inspire me still
Peace be with you, #3

As we near the second anniversary of that awful day, we wish to remember.

An out of town firefighter from Pennsylvania, my husband was graciously invited to be part of John Tierney's honor guard that sunny October day when he was remembered by family and friends. His mass card continues to have a prominent place in our home and we wear bracelets bearing his name that his mother Helen generously sent us. We didn't "know" John, but the brotherhood of firefighters is real and we know all we need to know about him and his courage.

We pray for God's healing grace for all who loved him.

I DID NOT KNOW YOU VERY WELL- I KNEW YOU AS THE FIREMAN IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD WHO CAME ONE DAY TO PUT OUT A TRASH FIRE. WE JOKED BECAUSE IT WAS NOTHING BIG AT THE TIME-YOU WANTED MORE EXCITEMENT. HOW I WISH YOU WERE STILL PUTTING OUT TRASH FIRES!!!! I WISH I HAD KNOWN YOU AS A FRIEND BECAUSE FROM WHAT I HAVE HEARD YOU ARE A VERY INCREDIBLE YOUNG MAN AND I WOULD OF BEEN PROUD TO CALL YOU MY FRIEND. YOU WENT THROUGH A LOT IN YOUR LIFE AND RATHER THEN GIVE UP YOU CHOSE TO PUSH FORWARD AND YOU MADE AN INCREDIBLE CHOICE OF BECOMING A FIREMAN. YOU CHOSE TO SACRIFICE YOUR LIFE EVERY DAY TO SAVE OTHERS. YOU PUT OTHERS BEFORE YOU - AND THAT IS VERY HONORABLE. YOUR CHILDREN HAVE SO MUCH TO BE PROUD OF AND IN THE SHORT TIME I HAD MET YOU - YOU HAD AN INCREDIBLE PRESENCE ABOUT YOU. I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU - EVEN IF YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHO I AM - ALL THAT MATTERS IS THAT YOU CROSSED MY PATH AND YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. EVERY MORNING AS I RIDE THE BUS INTO THE CITY - I LOOK OUT TOWARDS WHERE THE TRADE CENTER ONCE STOOD AND WONDER WHAT IT HAD TO BE LIKE AND WHAT WAS GOING THROUGH YOUR MIND AND THE MINDS OF ALL THOSE ANGELS NOW IN HEAVEN. YOU AND ALL OF THE OTHER 342 MEN WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES AS WELL AS THE OTHER HEROES WHO CHOSE TO RUN INTO THOSE BUILDINGS AND SAVE LIVES ARE ALWAYS IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS AND SO ARE YOUR FAMILIES. I DID NOT HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO KNOW YOU HERE -BUT MAY ONE DAY AGAIN OUR PATHS WILL CROSS - I LOOK FORWARD TO THAT! VICTORIA - submitted: 6/6/2002 12:23:32 PM

Hector, It has been a year I think of you everyday. I talk to you always, I know that you are listening(you always did). Here we are a year later already It is hard to believe you are not here. I just want you to know that you were like a big brother to me always. You taught me to be strong and to always stay in the fight. I wish my son would have been able to meet you. I sure could use some of your advice in raising a child. Anybody who knows you knows that you had plenty experience in that department. I love you brother and dont worry I'll see you in heaven. Hector,
So much time has passed, so many words unspoken, so many mixed emotions…The years we spent working together turned into a true friendhip. You were my strength, a true hero. You had a way to make me smile, laugh and comfort me like no other. My only regret in life is that we did not remain in touch through the years. Over the past couple of years I have missed our long talks in between working and hanging out. Most of all I miss the shoulder the lean on that you had always offered me. I have found comfort in speaking to you through my prayers and I know in my heart you are the shining star that I see whenever I look up in the sky. I will always love you, you were a true friend and I will never forget you! God bless you for being the true hero you were might to be!

Hector was someone I knew for a short time. He was my cousin, I'm Roberto Conde's Daughter Nissa Conde and my father was Hector's Uncle. When we saw the trade towers coming down we had no idea that Hector would be in there. We were mourning over the death of Hector too, I mean my father loved Hector a lot. I think out of all of us my father took it the worst and it was even more painful because he received nothing from his nephew's Death. My father was Hector's mother's Brother. This Memorial page is dedicated to THE LOVING MEMORY OF HECTOR TIRADO JR.

I never got a chance to meet you but I have heard so much about you it feels like I know you. When I first heard of the attacks first thing that came to mind was your family and how they were doing. When I got news that you were a fallen hero I said a prayer that I would watch over Marina like you would. You were a great man and I know you are watching above. VINCE,
ON THIS ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF YOUR PASSING, I STILL FIND IT DIFFICULT TO COME TO TERMS WITH. YOU ARE MY BEST FRIEND AND I HAVE KEPT MY PROMISE BY LOOKING OUT FOR YOUR WIFE AND KIDS. THEY HAVE SETTLED IN NEXT TO MY FAMILY AND WE TALK OF YOU EVERY TIME WE GET TOGETHER. YOUR DAUGHTERS HAVE SHOWN SO MUCH COURAGE DURING THIS LAST YEAR THAT YOU WOULD BEAM WITH PRIDE. YOUR SON, MY GODSON, ANTHONY IS JUST LIKE HIS DAD. AT 2 1/2 YEARS OLD, HE ALREADY HAS THE SIZE AND BUILD THAT YOU DID. YOUR WIFE SHARI, IS HOLDING UP WELL BUT STILL HAS HER BAD DAYS. I THINK OF YOU EVERY TIME A FOOTBALL GAME COMES ON OR EVERY TIME I PLAY GOLF. YOU WERE A MAN THAT I TRULY RESPECTED AND I WILL LIVE MY LIFE THANKFUL THAT GOD PUT YOU AND I AS NEIGHBORS. IT SHOWED ME WHAT TRUE FRIENDSHIP IS ALL ABOUT. MAY GOD KEEP YOU IN HIS ARMS.
UNTIL WE SEE EACH OTHER AGAIN,
YOUR FRIEND,

I knew Steve Tompsett at university. He was the top undergraduate in the Computer Science faculty at the University of Sydney 1980-1982 (Hons 83). The irony is that if he had not been such a high achiever, he would not have been in the WTC working for Instinet on September 11. Steve was a brilliant computer scientist and it is a great loss for the industry and a tragedy personally that his life was ended in this way. I have been writing this over and over for one year. It was selfish but Wally was more than a friend. He was an honest, loyal, caring, father and husband. He made people that were around better because it was never about him. He lived his life from the heart and that is why everyone that knew him felt like Wally was their best friend. When we stood together I was dwarfed, not by his size although he was 6'4'' and 250 lbs but his heart and presence. I am a better person for knowing him but a selfish person for wanting more. I hope people remember him for how he lived not how he died. Wally knew that the picture was in the heart. Wally will always be in my heart. - submitted: 9/11/2002 6:14:44 AM

In loving memory to my exquisitely beautiful wife, I will miss you forever. As I write this memorial for you, the tears of my sadness roll down my cheeks but yet inside I can feel your love and joy for life. I know you want us all to live and forever keep you alive in our memories. But Felicia, the empty feeling and sadness sometimes consumes me that it is unbearable. However, our beautiful son, Sebastian, is what is keeping me strong and moving forward. He is so much like you that I always feel you are with me. He is happy and growing well. Please don't worry, he isn't hurting as far as I can tell but he knows you are not there. The joy is putting him to bed our new ritual is him saying to your portrait and kissing you good nite. He loves you always too. Rest In Peace, my beloved.

I didn't know Felicia.. but reading her husband's memorial to her.. it just broke my heart. I can't imagine how truly unbearable it must be sometimes for her family... for all of the families. I'm so sorry. A friend called and woke me up on that morning... and I stood in my living room, and I cried as I saw the towers fall to the ground. I just hope Felicia and the rest of the victims know, somehow.. hopefully, wherever they are... that they are forever etched in history and in the hearts and minds of millions across the globe. I hope somehow they know. To the families.... I AM SO SORRY THAT THIS HAPPENED TO YOU!! May GOD BLESS Felicia and everyone who left us that day. "Mr. T." as all the students called him, was one of the greatest teachers Burlington High School ever had. From his signature shorts that he wore everyday of the school year to his sparkling personality, This man meant so much to so many. Mr. T. taught us how to save lives. I have taken great comfort in the story of a former student who saved her daughter's life because Mr. T. taught her CPR and other former students who became Doctors, Nurses, EMT's and Teachers - All because of Mr. T. We will never forget you or what you taught us! We will miss you forever...

I knew both James and Mary from when they lived in Rowley, MA. I lived several houses down, and my brother and I were good friends with Albert, one of their grandsons. I specifically remember one hot summer day when my brother and I were swimming in a neighbor's pool. Mr. Trentini and 'Bert came over, and we all had a great time joking around and playing in the pool. This was probably seven or eight years ago, but I still remember his warm smile and the fact that he and Mary would always love their family. Rowley, and America, lost two very special people on September 11. A memorial is being set up at the end of our street, and I enlisted in the Marine Corps in order to do my part to try and prevent something as tragic and senseless as this from ever happening again; when friends and family lose loved ones for reasons we may never understand. May God bless the Trentini's and their family. We will always remember them and the special way that they touched all of our lives. - submitted: 3/30/2002 10:15:04 PM

Although I did not know Mary & Jim Trentini as well as others here in Rowley, I had been corresponding with Mary regarding scheduling the baptism of one of their grandchildren who lived with family in California. Over and over again, we tried to set a date, but something always got in the way regarding the family's schedule. I was waiting to hear back from Mary after she would return from California. She was on Flight 11 with Jim and also with another member of our community, Laurie Olsen Neira (although they were not traveling together, and I'm not sure that they were aware they were on the same flight). I have been priviledged to get to know Mary & Jim --- and Laurie --- through their surviving families. These were very special people, people who touched the lives of so many. This was evident in the number of attendees at the Trentini's memorial service and the many tributes paid over the ensuing months. Their legacy is their families and the lives of all they touched along the way. May God continue to bless their memory and may their families find peace in knowing that they rest in the loving arms of God. -- Rev. Bob - submitted: 9/7/2004 2:25:08 PM

Lisa, I always remember you as such a beautiful and happy person. Although I have not seen you in awhile, we were always high school buddies. May God keep you close to him and protect you. You will be missed. Mary Lou - submitted: 10/10/2001 9:29:01 AM

To the family of Lisa Trerotola, you don't know me and I didn't know Mrs. Trerotola, but her picture jumped out at me from the missing people at CNN. I checked her name each day, because your Ms. Trerotola reminded me of a close aunt of mine. When I read confirmed dead under her name, my heart sunk. God Bless your family if you read this. In some strange way the loss of her life, has greatly affected mine. - submitted: 11/2/2001 1:27:49 PM

Lisa I cant believe how much I have missed you over this past year. You were one of the few wonderful people a person gets to know. I was truly lucky to have you as my best friend. I feel so sad everyday, knowing your not coming home. Your smile lite up rooms all over the place. I will miss you forever.

Lisa was my mom's cousin and I never got to meet her. I was supposed to come see her at the World Trade Center when I came back to New York for a wedding in May 2002. I never got that chance. In October 2001, my fifth grade class and I made a card to give to my great uncle and great aunt(her parents). We all signed it and sent it up to New York for them. I wish I would've gotten to meet you, Lisa. Even though I never did, I remember you everyday for being a great person as I've heard. Love you and God Bless. - submitted: 12/6/2005 12:09:33 PM

I knew Simon from our Belize trip back in 1991. Simon was a member of the HAC and became attached to our unit (14 Fld Regt R.A) He was such a nice guy, always smiling even during a bad exercise, good laugh in the battery bar and was a very popular guy. Shocked to hear of his loss during this inhuman attack. Thoughts with his wife and family, R.I.P Simon - submitted: 2/20/2008 5:05:29 PM

The world is at a loss, they will never know the beauty that is you. You were always such a warm, nice person... that you will be missed even by people who were not your closest friends or family. Jennifer was a kind and beautiful person with a strong spirit and a very special soul. She was wise beyond her years and truly did embrace life. My heart aches for her family's loss. I know she is missed but in her short time here she touched many people just be being the beautiful person she was. Kindness and joy have a ripple effect that cannot be measured. I know she is watching over and guiding her family and friends until they meet again. To the Tzemis family and all of her close friends, you are still in my prayers and Jen is still in my thoughts. - submitted: 3/13/2006 8:23:01 PM
