NAMEAGEFROM
Joseph Zaccoli   39 Valley Stream, NY United States
World Trade Center - broker, Cantor Fitzgerald - submitted: 10/3/2001 8:39:31 AM
. . . . . . .

Joseph Zaccoli's wife, Helen, teaches theology to schoolchildren and yesterday, a few days after her husband's body was found, she went to her children's school, Holy Name of Mary, in their community of Valley Stream, N.Y., to talk. "These kids are so traumatized, not just mine," said Helen, who is mother to three, all under 14. "I was trying to say that they had to look for miracles beyond the building, little miracles that are happening all over the place." She lists some. "A woman I don't even know at Jamaica Hospital made red, white and blue ribbon pins and sold them and gave me all the money. Every day for the last 15 years, my husband brought me coffee and a muffin. I was telling people that was one of the things that I was going to miss. Yesterday, somebody left coffee and a muffin outside my door." Joseph, 39, was a municipal bond broker at Cantor Fitzgerald who somehow found the time to coach five different elementary school athletic teams. Another thing his wife counts as a little miracle ? they found his wedding ring. "His ring said, `Till death,' mine said, `Till us part,' " Helen said. "He was on the 104th floor. With all that debris, I can't even fathom how they found it." Rest in peace - submitted: 10/18/2001 9:45:31 PM

Robert Alan Zampieri   30 Saddle River, NJ United States
World Trade Center - Carr Futures - submitted: 10/3/2001 8:39:31 AM
. . . . . . .

"Dad, someday I'm going to tell you to wear a tuxedo, and that will be my wedding," Robert A. Zampieri once said. "You won't even meet the girl before." Robbie, as everyone called him, was shy and private. Now the father, a dentist who is also named Robert, has been moved to make his son's life a little more public. Dr. Zampieri is finishing a newsletter devoted to the life of his son. He has been writing such letters to his patients for 30 years, but never one so personal. Robbie Zampieri, 30, a trader on the foreign exchange floor for Carr Futures, was low man on the totem pole, working the swing shift. The week before Sept. 11, he had been on nights. That week, he was moved to days on the 92nd floor of the north tower. He grew up in Saddle River, N.J., the oldest of three children, and attended St. Francis College in Loretto, Pa. He loved his dog, Daisy. They ate and slept together, and played in the ocean. He and his father were buddies. They played golf every Friday. Robbie loved to surprise his mother. He cut the hedges just the way she liked them. He cleaned the gutters. Despite the memorial service, his father has not said goodbye. "He's not gone," Dr. Zampieri said. "It's just that I can't hug him anymore." (nytimes.com) - submitted: 10/31/2001 10:44:51 PM

St. Francis was a small community where we all looked out for each other. Zamp, as he was so famously known as in Loretto, always looked out for his friends. We drank beer together, laughed together, and shared great times in Loretto together. He was a regular at my fraternity, Theta and I at his, Alpha. His broad smile and hearty laugh will sadly be missed at future reunions at Spanky's Bar, but the stories will always be the same, how we miss the fun loving guy who would have given you the shirt off his back. Hey Zamp, the boyz of St. Francis will forever miss you.

I worked with Mark for a couple of years and had the fortune of spending time outside of work with him. He was a funny, great guy who loved his then girlfriend (soon to be wife) Jill very much. I can only imagine what a great father he became as we lost touch after he got married,

Jill I hope all is well and I hope Alex and Nicky remember their dad, and how much we all loved him.

God bless you and your family.

Ira Zaslow   55 NY, NY United States
World Trade Center - Lehman Brothers - submitted: 10/31/2001 9:55:05 PM
. . . . . . .

The closer it got to Saturday, the more excited Ira Zaslow would become. At 55, a financial analyst for Lehman Brothers, he was like a boy about the weekend. He would call Bryan, his eldest son, to say: "This weekend is going to be great!" For Mr. Zaslow, weekends meant paddleball. "He had a passion for it," said Bryan Zaslow. "It was pure happiness for him to wake up at 6 on Saturdays and Sundays and meet the same paddleball friends. He went anywhere to play." An argument over a foul ball? Play it over, he would say. "Anything," Bryan Zaslow said, "to play more." His other passions were equally homey: A good nap on the couch. Listening to the car radio while Felicia, his wife of 31 years, shopped at the mall. The pizza at a place in North Woodmere, his Long Island hometown. A quiet man, he went out of his way to lend a hand, while deflecting the credit. When New York University rejected a young Lehman employee, he made a call or two and got her in. Then he congratulated her. "He had time for everybody," his son said. " `Whatever you want,' he'd say." - submitted: 10/31/2001 9:55:52 PM

How comforting it is to read the wonderful tributes submitted to honor the memory of our beloved Abe (Avremel). His acts of kindness and compassion, of caring for his fellow man, are as inspiring today as they were when the world first heard of his heroism nearly five years ago. Not a day goes by that we don't think about him, speak about him, refer to his warm, caring ways. May his memory be a blessing for all mankind.

To Joe's Family, I hope time is taking the pain away of his loss, but not the memory of him, and his sense of humor. I smile when I think of him and how he called this former employee of his a "pit bull". I think of how he was so proud of his family, and how he'd light up talking about his daughters. ARRIVING AT GROUND ZERO WITH GREAT FEAR AND CONCERN,
WITH TREPIDATION AND ANXIETY I WONDERED WHAT WE WOULD LEARN-
ESCORTED TO THE SITE, WEARING MASKS AND BREATHING HARD,
LOOKING UP AT THE PILES OF RUBBLE ALL OVER THE YARD-

THE TRUCKS THE WORKERS THE VOLUNTEERS THERE WERE ALOT-
THE SMOKE STILL SMOLDERED, THE DEBRIS WAS STILL HOT-
AND THEN IT HIT ME, EXACTLY WHAT I WAS SEEING,
FILE CABINETS BEAMS WIRES GLASS- AND 6500 HUMAN BEINGS-

PILED HIGH WAS THE RUBBLE, LOOKING LIKE NO END IN SITE-
A MOVIE SCENE WITH "X" RATINGS, IT WAS CERTAINLY NOT BRIGHT-
AS I STARED AT WTC 1 AND LOOKED FOR WTC 2,
I ASKED OUR ESCORT FOR HELP, AS I WAS WITHOUT A CLUE-

NOTHING WAS RECOGNIZABLE, NOTHING COULD BE DISCERNED
NOONE BUT NOONE COULD HAVE SURVIVED, I WAS QUICK TO LEARN!
THERE WAS NO SUFFERING OR PAIN BY ALL THAT WERE CONSUMED,
THEIR LEGACIES, THEIR MEMORIES, THOSE G-D AWFUL GOONS-

EACH DAY THAT GOES BY, MY PRAYERS GO UNANSWERED,
MY HOPE, MY WISHES, ARE BURIED IN THIS DISASTER.
THE CLOSURE I HOPED WOULD BE THERE, FOR ME AT GROUND ZERO,
QUICKLY RESURFACED AS I WATCHED, TIME AFTER TIME, ALL THOSE HEROES..

MY FRIENDS, MY LOVED ONES, YOU SEE IT WAS A WAR ZONE FOR SURE,
AND UNTIL THE CULPRITS ARE DESTROYED, THERE IS NO CHANCE FOR EVEN A CURE!
THEY TOOK FROM ALL OF US, THEY TOOK ANDREW STEVEN FROM ME,
AND WHATEVER IT TAKES, WE MUST FIGHT UNTIL WE ARE FREE....

EACH OF US WAS TOUCHED IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER,
SO LETS TEAM UP AND HELP, OUR SISTERS AND OUR BROTHERS-
DONATE YOUR TIME, YOUR MONEY, YOUR STRENGTH
SPREAD THE GOOD WORD GO TO FAR REACHING LENGTHS.

DO WHAT YOU HAVE NEVER DONE BEFORE,
STEP UP IN YOUR COMMUNITY, AND OPEN YOUR DOOR.
LET THE WORLD KNOW YOU CARE, DONT BE AFRAID OF THOSE BASTARDS,
AND PRAY FOR MY BROTHER , YOUR FRIEND , AND HIS LIFE IN THE HEARAFTER.

ANDREW STEVEN , YOU TOUCHED SO MANY LIVES, SO MANY HEARTS,
WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU, EVEN THOUGH WE ARE NOW APART!
YOUR OPINIONS YOUR THOUGHTS WE WILL ALWAYS HEAR WHAT YOU SAY,
WE WILL THINK ABOUT YOU, WE'LL TALK ABOUT YOU, WE WON'T MISS ANY DAY.

YOU ARE WITH THE ALMIGHTY,
YOU ARE WITH GRANDPA, AND ABBE RENA YOUR CHILD,
YOU ARE LOOKING DOWN ON US WITH LEADERSHIP AND GUIDANCE,
YOU WILL PROTECT US FROM THE WILD.

WE SEE YOUR FACE EACH DAY,
YOUR IMPACT ON ALL OF US WILL NEVER BE SEVERED,
ANDREW STEVEN ZUCKER MY BROTHER & FRIEND,
MAY YOU BE HAPPY FOREVER AND EVER.
I LOVE YOU. - submitted: 12/15/2001 3:56:31 AM

Andrew, we miss you so much. Not a day goes by when we don't think about you. Temima Neshama talks about her Uncle Andrew so much. I can't stop talking to about you. Tomorrow I will be speaking to a group down where it all happened, where your murder took place, at Ground Zero. I haven't been down there since just before Yom Kippur. Andrew I love you and miss you. Love your sister, Cheryl - submitted: 4/20/2002 9:53:28 PM

I am a NYS correction officer i do not know you but shortly after the attack we had a memorial service a line-up before work and we were each given a small piece of paper with a victims name on it. I still have that paper with Andrew Zuckers name on it and have often wondered what he was like before the incident and from reading the posts from family and friends i can see he was special. I am honored to be able to get some insight on this man who was always a mystery in my mind. My deepest sympathy to all of you. - submitted: 9/1/2005 9:40:08 PM
